Deadline: 19-Oct-2025
The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund Mozambique is inviting strategic partnerships to expand access and utilization of quality health and nutrition services for conflict-affected populations in Cabo Delgado Province.
This initiative prioritizes children under five, adolescents, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and other vulnerable groups who face significant barriers to basic services. The program will focus on improving nutrition and resilience through infant and young child feeding, prevention and treatment of malnutrition, micronutrient support, and integrated nutrition and health interventions.
The partnership is expected to deliver integrated mobile brigades in hard-to-reach communities, ensuring improved nutritional status and resilience of marginalized and displaced populations through health, nutrition, and social behavior change interventions. Community-based service delivery systems will be strengthened through capacity building of community health workers, activists, and health committees to implement interventions such as Management of At-Risk Mothers and Infants (MAMI) and Integrated Community Case Management (iCCM). These efforts will be supported by mobile brigades and digital reporting tools such as ODK and KoboCollect. The program will also reinforce government and local authority-led systems to provide timely, affordable, inclusive, and sustainable access to basic services.
Furthermore, the initiative aims to improve disaster preparedness by enhancing the capacity of governments, local authorities, and communities to respond effectively, with a focus on vulnerable households. Another key component is strengthening the collection, analysis, and visualization of disability, gender, and age disaggregated data to guide adaptation and ensure inclusive humanitarian responses.
Geographically, the partnerships will focus on four districts in Cabo Delgado Province: Balama, Namuno, Ancuabe, and Chiure. Organizations may apply to cover one or multiple districts, and a detailed list of targeted communities will be provided at the onset of implementation. These communities were carefully selected using rigorous criteria to maximize impact through geographic convergence with ongoing programs. This call is issued by UNICEF Mozambique as part of its commitment to improving nutrition outcomes and strengthening community resilience in conflict-affected regions.
