UN Women is seeking applications for the SheMedia Schools to provide training and information support to the women activists and CSOs representatives affected by the full-scale war to improve their advocacy and communication skills, and to facilitate the establishment of new partnerships with media for communication and advocacy of gender equality and women’s rights.

UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls, the empowerment of women, and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.

UN Women continues to prioritize supporting women’s organizations and women human rights defenders to enhance their visibility and critical role in monitoring, advocacy and decision-making at all levels. This support is one of the key focuses of the UN Women project “Transformative Approaches to Achieving Gender Equality in Ukraine”, funded by Sweden, which aims at employing transformative approaches to the advancement of gender equality and women’s empowerment, through engaging with the key institutions at the same time, that have significant impact on either reproduction of restrictive gender stereotypes or can help to break down these social norms and pave the way to greater gender equality and women’s empowerment: the government, the parliament, women’s organizations, media and the private sector.

UN Women work in Ukraine focuses on supporting the government and civil society in advancing gender equality and implementation of the national and international commitments on gender equality and women’s human rights.
