Selwood Housing’s Stronger Communities Fund presents an inviting opportunity for local groups and community organizations to seek grant support for projects that enhance neighbourhood life and benefit residents.
The fund is designed to assist initiatives that can either cover the full cost of a project or contribute toward broader costs, with typical grants being modest yet impactful—and requests up to £2,000 considered.
Projects eligible for support must clearly demonstrate benefit to Selwood Housing customers or to communities within its neighbourhoods. Applicants must align with at least one of the following benefits: providing relief, support or essential goods to those in need; promoting tolerance, understanding and respect among diverse groups; involving more people in local decision-making or in community life more broadly; strengthening existing groups or helping form new ones; helping people learn new skills or enhance existing ones, thereby building self-reliance and confidence; or improving the appearance or quality of local areas to make them better places to live.
Funding windows are scheduled quarterly, giving applicants several chances throughout the year to submit proposals. During open periods, interested groups may apply through an online form, or request a physical copy if preferred. Selwood Housing encourages interested parties to reach out to their customer involvement and communities team for clarification or assistance in preparing proposals.
This fund offers a concrete way for community groups, charities, social enterprises, or informal collectives to turn ideas into reality—whether enhancing social cohesion, supporting residents in need, improving shared spaces, or empowering people with new skills. Groups located in Selwood Housing’s service areas planning to launch a small-scale initiative are encouraged to explore this opportunity when the next funding window opens.
