Call for Applications: Better Futures Fund (Round 1) – United Kingdom

Call for Applications: Local Enhancement Grant Programme in Ireland

Deadline: 14-Sep-2025

The Better Futures Fund supports projects and charities in communities served by Bristol Water, with the goal of building stronger, more connected, and resilient communities.

To be eligible, projects must focus on one or more of the following areas: protecting nature and improving community wellbeing, supporting education for all age groups, bringing people together to foster a sense of belonging, or assisting individuals who are vulnerable and need extra support.

In the Bristol region, the fund will award at least £112,000 per year over a five-year period. Funding can be used for a variety of costs, including hiring or purchasing equipment, providing skills and training, covering salaries for employees working directly on the project, and paying professional fees such as builders or design agencies.

Eligible applicants include schools, colleges, academies, registered charities, not-for-profit organisations, constituted groups or clubs, Community Interest Companies (CICs), and local community groups such as cricket clubs, allotment societies, scout groups, and gardening clubs. All applicants must be located within the Bristol Water supply area.

However, the fund will not consider applications from individuals under 18, profit-making businesses, sole traders, or projects based outside the service area. It also does not support projects requiring significant additional funding to be completed, retrospective costs, or initiatives with political or religious aims. Additionally, projects that have already been rejected within the same financial year are not eligible to apply again.
