Do you have a fantastic idea for a project that will excite and enthuse people in your community, engaging them in fun and interesting activities? If so, then apply for Grow Wild Community Projects 2019!
Grow Wild is awarding grants of £2,000 or £4,000 to groups across the UK to deliver projects in their community focused on UK native wildflowers, plants and fungi.
Kind of Projects
- Grow Wild will fund all sorts of things from creative events, art work to establishing wild flower areas. If applicant’s project and organisation are eligible, in 2019 Grow Wild is looking to fund projects that promote and highlight their aims and objectives within their project delivery. These are:
- focus on UK native wild flowers, plants and/or fungi, through planting or as inspiration, and will help people understand the importance of these native species for the environment and our lives.
- work with one or more of Grow Wild’s target audiences:
- Young people aged 12-25
- Communities living in urban areas
- Communities experiencing some disadvantage or reduced access to services
- Adults that are less engaged with their community and environmental activities
- have the potential to reach at least 300 people
- enable people to connect with, learn something new and give to help each other and nature.
- have an idea that is introducing something new, e.g. a new, unlikely location, new group of people or creative way to engage applicant’s audience.
Eligibility Criteria
- Non-profit organisations – voluntary, youth, and community groups are welcome to apply. Grow Wild’s particularly interested in hearing from youth groups, secondary schools, residents groups/community associations parish/town/community councils, health authorities/health boards, and prisons.
- Financially responsible organisations – applicants must have a bank account in the same name as their group or organisation.
- Organisations with good governance – all applicants must have an up-to-date constitution, or equivalent governance document, that outlines the group’s purpose and goals, which has been agrees and singes by the group’s board. Applicants should also have all relevant policy documents and procedures in places.
- Projects with permission – If projects are on land or in a venue where the applicant is not the legal owner, written permission from the land owner, confirming support for the project, must be provided at the application stage.
- Projects that are accessible – any project must have space/s to deliver their idea that is accessible to the general public. This does not need to be 24 hours a day but should have reasonable, free access.
