Cambridgeshire Community Foundation A428 Community Fund – UK

Community Foundation’s Rolling Grants Program in the US

Deadline: 01-Aug-2025

The Cambridgeshire Community Foundation is inviting applications for its A428 Community Fund, aimed at supporting projects that benefit the local economy, enhance community connections, and improve the environment. The fund is open to initiatives that directly relate to the impact and opportunities created by the A428 project.

Projects are encouraged to align with key priorities such as boosting the local economy through skills and employment, particularly by inspiring careers in STEM fields or creating job opportunities within the National Highways development and its supply chain.

The fund also supports projects that improve community safety, promote health and well-being, or encourage the use of non-motorized transport like cycling and walking. Cultural and heritage activities reflecting the changes brought by the A428 development, as well as community engagement initiatives that strengthen relationships built through the new transport links, are also welcomed.

Environmental enhancement is another priority. Projects that aim to improve the natural surroundings, especially in areas near the A428 scheme, will be considered for support.

The total value of the A428 Community Fund is £250,000, with individual grants available up to a maximum of £15,000.

Eligible applicants must be not-for-profit, community-focused organizations. These may include registered charities, charitable incorporated organizations (CIOs), religious groups delivering non-religious, community-benefiting projects, parish and town councils, village halls, and parochial church councils.

Other eligible entities include community interest companies (CICs), social enterprises, companies limited by guarantee, co-operatives, community benefit societies, schools, and eligible sports clubs. CICs and similar entities must have operated for at least one year and meet additional eligibility requirements.

National organizations can apply if the project is delivered within Cambridgeshire and the funding is restricted to this area. The foundation supports a wide range of causes and may fund project-related salaries, vehicle hire, and capital purchases.

The fund does not support organizations or projects that do not have a charitable focus, nor will it fund past activities, fundraising events, political or religious promotion, animal welfare, overseas travel, or statutory services that are government responsibilities. Improvements to facilities that are not accessible to the public are also excluded.
