CFAs: CJID Methane Emission Reductions Workshop (Nigeria)

Deadline: 27-Feb-2024

The Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development, through its Natural Resource and Extractive Programme (NAREP), in collaboration with the Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI), is pleased to invite journalists, researchers, analysts, media professionals, and Civil Society Organisations working in the extractive sector and climate change ecosystem to a three-day capacity-building workshop and stakeholder’s engagement on methane emission reductions in Nigeria.

The workshop’s primary objective is to enhance the capacity of civil society organisations (CSOs) and media personnel, enabling them to effectively raise awareness and contribute to substantive public discussions regarding the necessity of implementing methane emissions reduction strategies within the oil and gas sector.

The program also aims to equip CSOs and the media with the knowledge and tools to comprehend, monitor, and influence Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to reduce methane emissions. Ultimately, this will contribute to the country’s more successful implementation of methane emissions reduction initiatives.
