Can you help find new ways to measure civic strength? The Mayor of London, together with Impact on Urban Health’s innovation programme is now inviting applications for the Civic Data Innovation Challenge to support new methods to solve the most pressing challenges in measuring civic and community data.
They’re offering funding and support for individuals and groups who can help them in this ambition. Their aim is to leverage their city’s innovation and creativity around data to boost understanding of civic data in London.
They’re after radical new approaches from passionate people and organisations to tackle some of their biggest data challenges in the social sector. The challenge prospectus has been designed to inspire you, focus your thinking, and get you started.
Funding Information
Everyone they accept onto the programme will receive funding, workshops and 1-2-1 support. Successful applicants will be able to access up to £10,000 of round 1 funding.

They’d love to hear your ideas to help answer questions like:
- How can they measure the strength of relationships, social support or civic responsibility at a ward level?
- What proxy’s can they use to measure intangible parts of civic and community strength?
- How do they increase the use of data standards on civic data so that they measure things consistently across London?
Eligibility Criteria
- No, applicants do not need to be London-based. All applying must be a registered company/charity in the UK or working with a constituted sponsor organisation registered in the UK.
- Programme activity will take place online and in-person in London.
