Creating Connections Grants Programme (United Kingdom)

#grants_for_artists

Deadline: 29-Aug-2025

The McCarthy Stone Foundation is now accepting applications for its Creating Connections Grants Programme. This initiative aims to support charities and community groups that are actively working to reduce loneliness and isolation among people aged 65 and over.

The programme is focused on funding initiatives that foster meaningful social connections for older adults. Eligible activities include befriending services—such as meal delivery for those living independently—along with social groups like art classes, dance sessions, lunch clubs, and coffee mornings. Community transport services that help connect older individuals to local activities and essential services are also supported.

Grants of up to £7,500 are available. To be eligible, applicants must be a registered charity, community group with a constitution, or a Community Interest Company (CIC) limited by guarantee. The organisation must be based in England, Scotland, or Wales and have an annual turnover of less than £250,000, as shown in their latest annual report. While exempt charities are also considered, grants are not made to individuals, and CICs cannot apply for core cost funding.

Eligible organisations must deliver services aimed at adults aged 65 and over, specifically those that help reduce loneliness and foster social connections. The programme prioritises initiatives operating in areas of deprivation that affect older people. Although applications from all regions of England, Scotland, and Wales are welcome, demonstrating a high level of local need is essential for a strong application.

Charities serving a broad older population, including those with dementia, are encouraged to apply for the Creating Connections grant.
