HealthPro2 Grants for Vulnerable Populations Facing Food Insecurity

Small Grants Programme for World Day for Assistive Technology

Deadline: 29-Dec-2025

The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation is now accepting applications for its HealthPro2 Grant Program.

The programme aims to address the urgent needs created by extreme poverty, food insecurity, and malnutrition, particularly among those most affected by ongoing crises.

The overarching goal is to improve health conditions of vulnerable communities by expanding sustainable access to—and demand for—quality primary health care, nutrition services, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) in targeted states. Proposals are expected to focus on host communities, refugees, and internally displaced persons alike.

Under this call, priority interventions include improving infrastructure at primary health care centers and at the community level. This covers the construction of communal latrines and ensuring safe drinking water access. Essential medical drugs and supplies will be procured for health facilities, while disease surveillance and early warning systems will be strengthened at local levels. Referral systems linking communities, primary health care centers, and rural hospitals—with particular focus on emergency obstetric care services—are to be fortified. Monitoring and follow-up mechanisms will be enhanced to ensure quality and accountability.

The contracting authority has made an indicative budget of EUR 4,300,000 available under this call, though it reserves the right not to allocate all of it. Individual grants may range from EUR 1,000,000 to EUR 4,300,000, and the requested funds may cover up to 100 % of eligible action costs. Applicants must secure complementary funding sources for costs exceeding the grant amount.

Eligibility involves specific criteria: the lead applicant (and any co‑applicants or affiliated entities) must satisfy organizational requirements, and proposed actions must align with the objectives and priorities outlined in the call. Costs must meet strict eligibility rules, whether the financing is cost‑based or results‑oriented.

This call offers a critical chance to enhance essential services for health, nutrition, and sanitation in some of Sudan’s most vulnerable regions. It seeks to support interventions that deliver tangible improvements in access, quality, and resilience for communities grappling with crisis conditions.
