J. N. Derbyshire Trust Grant Program in UK

Deadline: 31-Jan-2026

The J. N. Derbyshire Trust provides vital financial support to voluntary and community organisations across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire to strengthen local projects that contribute to the welfare and development of residents.

The focus areas of this funding include the Promotion of health, Development of physical improvement, Advancement of education, and Relief of poverty, distress and sickness.

Through this initiative, the Trust offers grants ranging from £350 to £10,000 for Nottinghamshire-based projects that address community needs and promote social well-being. Funds are specifically allocated to projects that demonstrate measurable benefits for local people and align with the Trust’s long-standing commitment to community development.

Eligible applicants include registered charities and not-for-profit entities such as Community Interest Companies (CICs) or Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs) operating on a non-profit basis. Organisations must have at least two years of financial accounts and serve communities within Nottingham or Nottinghamshire. The Trust does not provide grants to individuals or to large national charities with incomes exceeding £1 million. Applications are assessed twice annually, with funding decisions made during meetings in March and October.

This grant programme continues the legacy of J. N. Derbyshire’s philanthropic vision by investing in small and medium community organisations that are actively improving local lives through health, education, and poverty alleviation initiatives. Applicants are encouraged to ensure their proposals reflect the Trust’s priorities before submission.
