The funding supports projects that provide clean and safe water, promote hygiene education, improve sanitation facilities, and reduce waterborne diseases. Grant size is up to USD $1,500, and projects can last up to 12 months. The SafeDeposits Scotland Community Fund similarly provides grants to support projects that directly benefit local communities. Up to three organizations are funded each quarter, with a maximum grant of £5,000 per project. Eligible projects can address sustainability and the environment, employability and career skills, social inclusion, technology and digital inclusion, or broader community improvement. Applicants must be registered nonprofit, community-based, or grassroots organizations, led by individuals from the communities they serve. Contributions from the organization, whether cash, labor, or other in-kind resources, are required to complement the grant funding.
