Open Call: 10th Grant Cycle of International Trans Fund

Deadline: 01-Dec-2025

The International Trans Fund (ITF) has opened its 10th grant cycle, inviting applications from trans-led grassroots organizations across the world that are working to strengthen community resilience, leadership, and collective action.

This initiative provides vital funding for trans movements that often operate with limited resources, helping them to organize, advocate, and drive social change at local, national, and regional levels.

There are two kinds of grants available. SEED grants are one-year grants for organizations applying to ITF for the first time, with amounts ranging from USD 10,000 to USD 25,000. These grants help emerging groups lay strong foundations, establish governance systems, and implement projects that advance trans rights and visibility. THRIVE grants are also one-year grants, available to returning ITF grantee partners that have previously received a SEED grant. These range from USD 25,000 to USD 50,000 and are designed to support more established organizations in expanding their initiatives, strengthening networks, and deepening advocacy and community impact.

To be eligible, organizations must meet specific criteria that reflect ITF’s commitment to supporting authentic, trans-led leadership. Eligible groups must be trans-led, meaning that trans people hold decision-making roles, set the organization’s strategic and financial priorities, and constitute at least 75% of staff, spokespeople, and governing bodies. If this threshold is not met, applicants must clearly demonstrate how trans people are directly involved in core budgetary and strategic decisions. Organizations must also have an annual operating budget under USD 100,000, be collective groups rather than individuals, and have a primary focus on benefiting the trans community. Projects should contribute to movement building rather than providing direct services alone.

ITF will not fund individuals, organizations that are not trans-led, or those that do not specifically serve trans people and communities. Additionally, groups with operating budgets above USD 100,000 and projects that focus solely on service delivery without contributing to the broader trans movement will not be considered.

Applications can be submitted through ITF’s online portal by December 1, 2025, in any of the supported languages—English, French, Spanish, Russian, or Simplified Chinese. Applicants are encouraged to review ITF’s detailed application guide and participate in webinars to strengthen their proposals.

This call represents a powerful opportunity for trans organizations to secure essential funding, build institutional capacity, and sustain the transformative work they are leading. Through both SEED and THRIVE grants, the International Trans Fund continues to invest in the long-term growth and solidarity of trans movements worldwide, ensuring that trans-led initiatives have the resources they need to thrive.
