Open Call: Margaret Giffen Community Fund (UK)

Apply now for Community Project Grant (Australia)

Deadline: 03-Oct-2025

The Margaret Giffen Community Fund offers grants of up to £3,000 for projects addressing poverty and disadvantage in Corby, Kettering, and North Northamptonshire. Local voluntary, community, or self-help groups that are small and locally managed are eligible to apply.

Groups must have a constitution or written rules, adhere to policies such as equality and safeguarding, and include volunteers beyond their management committee.

Projects might involve tackling child poverty, food poverty, or fuel poverty, or providing free or low-cost access to education, arts, sports, or recreational activities for low-income families. Advice, advocacy, and support services for vulnerable residents are also within the scope of funded work. Revenue and capital funding can be used, and new or existing services may benefit.

Applicants cannot be social enterprises with persons with significant control, and must keep their total project budget at or below £20,000. Projects must clearly show how they respond to prioritized needs identified in the Hidden Needs Report. Dedicated guidance notes and document checklists are available to help groups prepare their application, and Foundations staff offer support during the process.

Although this grant round is currently closed, the Margaret Giffen Fund represents an opportunity for local grassroots organisations to gain financial support to make genuine difference in people’s lives across Corby, Kettering, and North Northamptonshire via well-designed, community-driven projects.
