The Rockefeller Foundation is currently accepting applications for the Promoting Well-Being Convenings under the Bellagio Center Convening Program to unlock breakthroughs to promote the holistic well–being of individuals and societies and foster equity, opportunity, and sustainability.
Successful applicants will be working to reorient social, political, and economic systems which seek to balance economic growth and consumption as a means to a diverse set of more important ends such as community, safety, nature, creativity, and freedom.
Areas of Interests
- Beyond GDP – How can they institute new tools and metrics to holistically measure human well–being and planetary flourishing? How can they ensure that government and democratic institutions are shaping markets to foster specific societal goals?
- Social Connection and Purpose – How can they build communities that encourage strong social bonds, and foster equity, freedom of expression, purpose, and meaning across diverse social groups?
- Financial Stability and Material Goods – How can they ensure a minimum threshold of material wealth and stability to promote long-term prosperity, and equal access to basic services such as food, water, shelter, and healthcare for all?
- Empowering Leaders – How can they elevate and amplify the leadership of local and indigenous communities, as well as women and communities of color?

- Convening design resources, to help maximize the experience and impact of your convening
- Modest travel support for eligible participants
- Ground transportation from Milan to the Bellagio Center
- A dedicated convening lead on-site, as well as amenities such as lodging, food, AV etc.
Successful Convenings
- Demonstrate the potential to result in impact following the convening
- Hinge on a clear, specific, and compelling purpose
- Engage diverse stakeholders necessary for success during and after the convening
- Are timely and centered during a moment that helps catalyze impact
Eligibility Criteria
- The Rockefeller Foundation is especially interested in supporting convening organizers who are based outside of the U.S., who are citizens of low and middle-income countries and/or who represent low and middle-income countries through their cultural backgrounds, the focus area of their work, and their worldviews.
