Deadline: 08-Sep-2025

Applications are now open for the Wimbledon Foundation Community Fund, offering support to local organisations working to address social needs in the London boroughs of Merton and Wandsworth. The fund aims to back projects that help people facing disadvantage by improving wellbeing and community engagement.

Organisations should design their projects to tackle social issues through one or more key themes. These include improving mental health, providing access to learning and employment skills, offering advocacy and specialist support for vulnerable groups, and encouraging participation in the community.

Grants of up to £10,000 are available for a one-year period. However, projects focused on sports, dance, or physical activity will not be considered for funding. Projects that include some physical activity but focus primarily on broader youth or community work may still be eligible, as long as requested costs don’t relate to the physical activity itself.

Eligible applicants include a range of non-profit structures such as Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs), Companies Limited by Guarantee, Trusts, Unincorporated Associations, and Community Benefit Societies. These organisations must have appropriate governing documents and operate with charitable purposes.

While applications are welcome from outside the boroughs, priority may be given to smaller, locally rooted organisations within Merton and Wandsworth. The fund encourages applications from groups supporting communities facing disadvantage, including Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic groups, people with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ communities, young people, older adults, and those not in education, employment or training.

In this funding round, preference will be given to new applicants and those who haven’t previously received a Wimbledon Foundation grant, although returning applicants are also welcome to apply.
