The ”la Caixa” Foundation launches the Calls for Social Projects to support social entities in the development of their projects.
The purpose of this call is to collaborate with social entities that develop their projects in the Canary Islands to promote initiatives aimed especially at people who are in a situation of social vulnerability and whose objective is to improve their quality of life and promote equal opportunities.
The Calls for Social Projects are promoted to face current social challenges and to be close to the people who need it most through the entities that work in the territory.
Through its annual calls and joining efforts with the third sector, the ”la Caixa” Foundation reinforces and complements its own lines of action in the social sphere, in accordance with its strategic plan and following the Sustainable Development Goals contemplated in the Agenda of the United Nations.
The main objective is to promote transformative social initiatives with a social impact aimed at promoting equal opportunities and improving the quality of life of people in vulnerable situations.
The calls for Social Action in the Rural Area and International Cooperation maintain their state scope and are open to entities from all over the country.
Areas and lines of action
- Through this call, it is intended to facilitate support for projects related to the promotion of personal autonomy, attention to aging, disability, disorder mental health and illness, as well as promoting the social inclusion of people in a situation and/or risk of social exclusion, with special attention to children, youth and their families. Also they want to promote actions for the social and labor insertion of vulnerable groups, promote citizen coexistence and social cohesion and promote focused social action projects, mainly, in the prevention of addictions, violence and the promotion of relationships egalitarian.
- However, the main areas and lines of action in which The projects submitted to this call may be framed:
- Old people
- In this area they want to promote projects that promote personal autonomy and well-being of the elderly, with special emphasis on strengthening relationships interpersonal relationships, in the fight against unwanted loneliness and in the prevention and intervention in situations of fragility and vulnerability.

- Promotion of personal autonomy and prevention of frailty and its effects
- Prevention and intervention in situations of unwanted loneliness and social isolation and/or digital.
- Detection and intervention in situations of special vulnerability of the elderly.
- People with disabilities or mental disorders
- In this area, they want to prioritize the accompaniment of people with disabilities or mental disorders, promoting actions of empowerment, promotion of personal autonomy and support for activities of daily living, including the improvement of skills for social and digital inclusion. Prevention and intervention in situations of loneliness are also contemplated.

- Health and disease
- The purpose of this area is to promote socio-health care and psychosocial support projects that promote the quality and humanization of care, with the aim of guaranteeing greater well-being for people and their families when they are in a situation of illness or in the process of recovering from its consequences.

- Socio-health care and/or psychosocial support for people in a situation of illness and their family members, including attention to possible sequelae
- Socio-sanitary care and psychosocial support for people at the end of their lives and/or in palliative care
- Residential resources for sick people and/or their families
- Poverty and social inclusion
- This area has a double purpose: firstly, to help break the cycle of poverty and its chronicity, empowering childhood and adolescence and empowering the family as the axis of socio-educational action and, secondly, promote projects that facilitate comprehensive development and the process of social inclusion of people in vulnerable situations, promoting their capabilities and facilitating new opportunities.

- Social and labor insertion
- In this area, the aim is to facilitate social and labor insertion and the improvement of the training and insertion itineraries of the groups that are most difficult to adapt to the labor market, promoting projects aimed at vulnerable young people, people with disabilities or mental disorders, people over 50 years of age, women without work experience, migrants and people in a situation or at risk of social exclusion.

- Support to the labor insertion processes to the ordinary company, as well as to the promotion of the self employment
- Accompaniment to people in the context of insertion companies and special centers employment
- Coexistence and interculturality
- The purpose of this area is to contribute to the construction of a more diverse and inclusive, promoting social intervention projects to improve intercultural citizen coexistence and social cohesion.

- Management of sociocultural diversity and community mediation
- Social action
- The tensions generated by the successive crises have caused an increase in social conflict. The reflection of this conflict is evident in the behaviors of use of violence (gender, intrafamily, in the form of bullying…), the deterioration of mental health and addictions.

Funding Information
- Projects submitted to this call may request aid for an amount of up to 50.000 €.
- The amount requested must be linked to the execution of a project with a duration of up to 12 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- The entities that can apply to the call are:
- Non-profit entities (as defined in the glossary of these bases)
- Social economy entities (as defined in the glossary of these bases) that, whether or not they are for-profit, among the purposes indicated in their bylaws, include explicitly as its main objective the social interest or social cohesion
- Public administrations are excluded from this call.
- The requirements for entities are:
- Be accredited in the application of calls convocaciones.fundacionlacaixa.org and designate a person as project manager user.
- Be domiciled in Extremadura.
- Be registered in the corresponding administrative registry.
- Have your own NIF.
- Have registered statutes and a minimum of 1 year of activity, from its Constitution.
- In the case of the delegations of a parent entity, they may present themselves independently, provided they prove their formal, functional and organic autonomy:
- Be recognized by the parent entity and have a minimum age of operation as a delegation of one year
- Have autonomous operation with respect to the parent entity, with its own structure and its own governing body
- Have its own budget and differentiated from the parent entity.
- The minimum territorial unit for delegations is the municipal area.
Valuation Criteria
- The projects must be aligned with the main objective of the call and, therefore, Therefore, they should be initiatives aimed especially at people who are in a situation of social vulnerability and whose objective is social inclusion, the promotion of equality of opportunities and improve their quality of life.
- Regardless of the field of action, it is valued that the projects respond to the lines of actions described in the previous section of these bases.
- In general, it is valued that the projects include:
- Collaboration in the territory through networking between entities and/or relationships intersectoral (public-private) based on complementarity and cooperation to offer the best person-centered accompaniment
- Participatory community processes that promote the participation of people and the community in the design, implementation and evaluation of the project itself.
