The Lincolnshire Community Foundation is inviting applications Coastal Community Challenge to improve the wellbeing of people living in Mablethorpe, Trusthorpe and Sutton on Sea and to make life more comfortable, ease distress and isolation for those most in need.
Themes
- Community cohesion: Project that bring residents together to socialise, learn and develop new skills, arts, culture and heritage projects and facilities that improve wellbeing and help strengthen the community.
- Young People: Diversionary activities, provision of activities or facilities and opportunities, workshops, educational outings.
- Community Facilities: Support for meeting places (community centres, village halls, playing fields) and assistance with debt counselling; welfare advice services, nutrition and diet.
- Older People: Care at home, integration projects; projects tackling isolation, loneliness and dementia, volunteer costs, sitter and companionship.
- Arts & Heritage: Projects to raise awareness or engage the local community in local heritage or access to the arts.
Funding Information
- The Foundation aims to distribute around £40,000 a year.
- Groups can apply for up to a maximum of £5,000 in any one year and can only hold one grant at any one time (application forms are available for requests up to £500 and a more detailed form for those between £501 and £5,000).
What Can they Fund?
- Local projects that encourage and/or assist those living in the target area.
- Equipment, travel, venue hire, telephone, stationery, refreshments, volunteer training and activities that meet an identified need.
- Whatever we fund must benefit your local community.
What Can’t they Fund?
- Political or predominantly religious activities
- Statutory provision
- Businesses
- Animal welfare
- General contributions to large nationwide appeals
- Grant making bodies applying for funding to redistribute to others.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible groups are:
- Not for Profit voluntary or community organisations
- Social enterprises
- Statutory Agencies, provided the project isn’t to deliver statutory services.
What supporting documentation do you need to apply?
- Constitution or set of rules
- A local management board or committee
- A bank or building society account in the organisation’s name with at least two cheque signatories
- Up to date accounts or income and expenditure account.
- Other relevant policies and procedures (vulnerable adults policy, equal opportunities).
