The Daily Mirror’s Pride of Britain Awards in partnership with TSB celebrates the achievements of truly remarkable people who make their world a better place. Screened on ITV in November, it is the biggest awards show of its kind on British TV.
Nominated by the public, the winners are from all walks of life, of all ages, and from all over the country. Their achievements are awe-inspiring and a lesson to them all. They say they are ordinary people, but their acts are truly extraordinary.
Categories
- Tsb Community Hero Award: For someone who goes to remarkable lengths to help others lead their best life.
- ITV Fundraiser of The Year: For tireless and inspirational charity fundraising, aged 18 and over.
- Good Morning Britain Young Fundraiser of the Year: To reward a young person aged 17 and under for inspirational charity work.
- This Morning Emergency Services Award: For police, fire, ambulance, paramedics or air, sea or mountain rescue who have gone beyond the call of duty.
- Outstanding Bravery: For adults who risk their own safety to to help others in danger.
- Child/Teenager of Courage: For battling against the odds to help others, or putting themselves at risk to save someone in danger.
- Lifetime Achievement: To recognise far-reaching achievement, possibly on a national or international scale.
- Special Recognition: For achievements not covered in other categories, such as inspiring carers, campaigners and members of armed forces.
Criteria
- Winners are chosen by the Pride of Britain judging panel, from a shortlist produced by the Pride of Britain research team. The team consider every public nomination received as well as conducting a full research process, which includes inviting nominations from charities, emergency services, voluntary and other organisations and searching news stories in print archives, on TV and online.
- They may consider your nomination in a different category if the research team or judges decide it is appropriate.
- Information you submit as part of the nomination may be shared with ITV in relation to the Pride of Britain Awards.
- Information you submit as part of a nomination may be included in a Daily Mirror article in relation to the Pride of Britain Awards.
- The national judging panel chooses who they feel are the most deserving winners, regardless of the number of nominations received.
- It is the nominator’s responsibility to obtain permission from the nominee to nominate them, and if the nominee is under 18, to obtain permission from their parent or guardian.
