Deadline: 13-Aug-2025
The Ernest Kleinwort Charitable Trust is currently inviting applications for its Medium Grant Program. This program supports charitable work within specific focus areas and prioritizes beneficiaries located in Sussex.
Grants are offered in amounts ranging from £10,001 to £20,000. The funding may support start-up costs for new projects within established organizations, core operational costs, specific capital or running costs for a project, or even unrestricted funding if the charity’s overall activities align with EKCT’s priorities.
To be eligible, the proposed work must fall under EKCT’s focus areas, which include care of the elderly, disability, general welfare, hospices, youth support, and wildlife or environmental conservation. Funding is also available for international wildlife and environmental projects, as well as reproductive health and family planning initiatives in Africa or Asia, provided they show a clear environmental impact.
Only organizations registered with the Charity Commission in England and Wales or with the Office of the Scottish Charity Register in Scotland are eligible to apply.
The Trust is unlikely to fund individuals, newly registered charities (less than one year old), large national charities with significant fundraising ability, or charities reliant on statutory funding. Other ineligible applicants include pre-schools, out-of-school schemes, churches outside of Cuckfield and Haywards Heath, CICs, and organizations focusing on animal welfare, agriculture, arts, community engagement, or medical research.
Additionally, local authorities, campaigning groups, and charities raising funds solely for other charities are also excluded. Organizations with multiple branches in Sussex are encouraged to contact the Trust before applying. Citizens Advice groups across the county are also not typically funded.
