Microbusiness Support Program from Caritas-Spes Ukraine

Open Call for IQVIA Accelerator Program

Deadline: 15-Oct-2025

The Caritas-Spes Ukraine has announced the opening of registration for the Microbusiness Support Program for residents of Buchanan, Brovar, and Boryspil districts of Kyiv region.

The program is focused on supporting microbusiness representatives who have just started their own business or have little experience in running a microbusiness (up to 1 year of active activity), as well as individuals who have already officially registered their business or are in the preparation stage for its opening and have a clear vision of the business idea. Special attention is paid to those entrepreneurs who do not have stable access to other sources of financing or consulting support and need help to develop or launch their business.

The goal of the program is to provide start-up entrepreneurs and microbusiness owners with the necessary resources, knowledge, and tools to revive and grow their businesses, which will contribute to a stable income for their households. Focus areas of the program include household services, restaurant business, trade, craft production, agriculture, educational and cultural projects, and other legal areas of activity in Ukraine.

Grant funds can be used for the purchase of equipment and raw materials, software and digital tools, marketing and advertising services, rental of premises, and partial payment of labor for employees at the business start-up stage. Funds cannot be used for personal expenses, payment of debts or loans, taxes, fines, penalties, or other expenses not specified in the business plan.

Financial support is provided exclusively to participants who were not held criminally liable for corruption offenses, are not under sanctions, and do not conduct activities in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine. Grants are non-refundable and paid in two stages: the first after the announcement of winners and the second two months later, subject to submission of a financial report and registration as an individual entrepreneur.

Residents of Buchanan, Brovar, and Boryspil districts of Kyiv region who are 18 years old and belong to one or more of the following vulnerability categories can participate: households with children under 18 years old, households with elderly people (60 years and older), households with people with disabilities (groups I–II), applicants with a group III disability that limits their ability to work, confirmed status of internally displaced persons (with a valid IDP certificate), and victims of war (damaged housing, loss of family member, loss of livelihood, etc.). Participants must also meet at least one of the economic vulnerability criteria, such as having a household income per month of less than the minimum wage (8,000 hryvnias per person, 6,160 hryvnias after taxes) or being unable to meet basic needs in at least one sector (food, shelter, hygiene products, medicine). A mandatory condition for participation is the absence of double assistance from other non-governmental organizations for similar support at the time of application.

Eligible participants include entrepreneurs who have recently started their own business (up to 1 year of operation) with no more than 10 employees, individuals who lost their business due to military operations and are seeking to restore it, and participants with a business idea who plan to start their own business. Financing is not provided for businesses related to the production or sale of weapons, medicines and narcotics, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products, currency exchange and other financial services, or gambling.

The program is implemented in three stages. Stage one includes participation in a modern business course on the basics of entrepreneurship, group sessions with a business consultant, and individual mentoring support during training, preparation of a business plan, and implementation of a business idea. Stage two involves the presentation of the developed business plan by participants and submission of an application for a microgrant in the amount of 1,000 to 5,000 USD (paid in hryvnia at the current exchange rate), on a competitive basis. Stage three focuses on the implementation of the business plan and reporting on results, along with access to individual consultations with a psychologist and group psychological sessions.

Training will be held offline over 7 weeks, with two sessions per week lasting up to three hours each. Venues will be in Bucha, Sofiivska Borshchahivka, and Brovary, with transportation costs reimbursed for participants traveling to training locations. Applicants can expect feedback from program specialists within five business days after completing the registration form, though completing the form does not guarantee assistance. Participants who meet the selection criteria will receive confirmation of participation and an invitation to the business course on entrepreneurship.

Application closes on 15 October 2025.
