British Council is seeking applications for its Year of Entrepreneurship, Science and Innovation (YESI) Workshop with an aim to create a space for researchers from Poland and UK to build partnerships between individuals and institutions from both countries.
This will start the search for funding opportunities, the implementation of research projects and the application of the research to the social and economic benefit.
The workshops are part of the Poland-United Kingdom Year of Entrepreneurship, Science and Innovation (PL-UK YESI) which aims to promote the innovative and cross-cutting relations between the UK and Poland. Numerous events are planned by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland, the British Embassy in Warsaw and British Council Poland.
Participants and Structure
The maximum number of participants is 30 (up to 15 from each country), including two coordinators (one on each side), who will be supporting the workshop management. The workshops will start from lunch on Day 1, followed by the familiarisation and information sharing session and dinner. Day 2 will be devoted to building that joint research networks and proposals. Day 3 gives participants the opportunity to continue work in a less formal setting with visits to institutions and research organisations.

The costs of air travel, accommodation (2 nights) and meals (from lunch on Day 1 until lunch on Day 3) are covered by the organizers.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be based at a recognised publicly funded research establishments or Higher Education Institutions (can include private universities)
- Researchers must be working in the relevant academic disciplines.
- Researchers need to have at least 2 years academic experience in the relevant discipline. Applicants welcome applications from researchers with a range of experience including those in the later stages of their Ph.D, early career researchers, established and experienced researchers and will look to have a range of participants at the events.
