The United States Embassy in Mauritania is pleased to announce that the annual application period for the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program 2022-2023 is now open.

This one-year fellowship program, comprised of NON-DEGREE academic and professional work, is designed for young and mid-career professionals who have a proven record of leadership and a commitment to public service. The program is not designed to deliver an advanced degree.
During their fellowship, Humphrey Fellows participate in non-degree study at approximately 13 host campuses across the United States and complete at least six weeks of a professional affiliation at a U.S.-based governmental, non-governmental, private sector, or international organization. Through their academic and professional experiences, they gain knowledge about the United States, deepen their professional expertise and experience in their field, and expand their networks to include U.S. and international counterparts
Eligible Fields
Applicants MUST be from one or more of the following eligible fields:
Candidates must have either a research background in the field or demonstrated ability to learn the results and policy implications of current research.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for a Humphrey fellowship, applicants must meet the following citeria:
Note: Individuals who fall under one of the following categories: U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, immediate family members of U.S. Embassy employees, recipients of Fulbright grants within the last five years, students already registered at or attending study programs in the United States or with previous U.S. study experience, individuals employed in the United States, those married to American citizens, those who have applied to immigrate or those have sought asylum in another country are not eligible to apply for the Humphrey Program.
