Deadline: 30-Nov-2025
The Ran and Ginny Fiennes Award supports humanitarian, scientific or educational projects which follow in the Transglobe Expedition’s tradition of challenge and perseverance.
Grants are historically given for between £2,000 and £5,000, with applications for smaller amounts, as well as larger bids under exceptional circumstances, welcomed.
The Award is designed to support projects that embody the spirit of adventure and exploration, foster innovation in travel and expedition planning, and inspire others through the undertaking of unique journeys. Applicants are encouraged to demonstrate commitment, resourcefulness, and the potential to contribute meaningfully to the wider community of explorers and travelers.
This award is aimed at enabling emerging travelers and expeditioners to pursue projects that might otherwise be financially challenging, providing a platform for growth and experience in the field of exploration. By supporting individuals at the early stages of their adventurous careers, the Ran and Ginny Fiennes Award seeks to cultivate a new generation of explorers who carry forward the values and legacy of the Transglobe Expedition.
Applicants are expected to submit proposals that clearly outline the objectives and scope of their planned expeditions, the resources required, and the potential impact of their journey. The flexibility in grant size allows for both modest projects and ambitious undertakings, making the Award accessible to a diverse range of explorers.
The application deadline is 30 November 2025, and projects must take place after 1 April 2026. This timeline ensures that successful applicants have sufficient time to plan, prepare, and execute their expeditions with the support of the grant.
