Deadline: 25-Aug-2025
The Cultural Section of the Cyprus High Commission in London is inviting proposals for the organisation of Cultural and Educational Actions to be held in the United Kingdom in 2026. These proposals should align with the broader concept of culture and education and may cover areas such as literature, theatre, film, fine art, dance, music, traditional culture, history, humanities, and social sciences.
The main objectives of this initiative are to preserve the national and cultural identity of the Cypriot community and to promote Cypriot culture, along with contemporary Cypriot artists and their work, within the UK. It also aims to support artists engaged with Cypriot culture, encourage individual creative initiatives, and strengthen cultural creativity both in Cyprus and internationally.
Other goals include fostering intercultural dialogue, promoting creativity through modern technologies, enhancing artistic education in the Cypriot diaspora and in Cyprus, using culture in international relations, deepening ties between Cyprus and EU or international countries, and raising awareness of cultural, social, and educational issues within the Cypriot community.
This call is open to individuals and organisations actively working in Cypriot cultural or educational fields. Interested applicants are encouraged to contact the Cultural Counsellor of the Cyprus High Commission in the UK, Marios Theocharous, to confirm eligibility and discuss the proposal process.
Proposals will be evaluated in coordination with the Department of Contemporary Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture in Nicosia. Assessment will consider the proposal’s contribution to promoting Cypriot cultural heritage, contemporary artistic work, and the cultural growth of the Cypriot community in the UK. Proposals should be realistic, well-structured, feasible within budget, and demonstrate high content quality. Previous work and recognition of applicants, as well as the innovation of the proposal, will also influence the evaluation.
