Deadline: 15-Jul-2025
The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund is inviting grant applications for a new initiative focused on modeling Early Childhood Education and Primary Education in Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines.
This program will target key education sectors such as early childhood development and learning outcomes. The aim is to improve the quality of education and development for children aged 3 to 8 across selected barangays and municipalities.
With an indicative budget of $210,000, the program is expected to deliver measurable results by December 2026. By the end of the school year 2025–2026, enrollment rates among children aged 3–8 are expected to rise across 12 barangays, compared to the baseline from the previous year.
Specifically, at least 60% of children aged 3–4 years in all 12 barangays and 25% in each of the four municipalities are expected to demonstrate at least average overall development. For five-year-olds, improvements in overall development are expected in all barangays and in at least 40% of the municipalities.
Additionally, students in Grades 1 to 3 across four municipalities should show a minimum 15% improvement in reading skills and a 10% improvement in numeracy. The program’s broader goal is to elevate early education outcomes, especially in underserved regions like Zamboanga del Norte.
