AFD-GDN Biodiversity & Development Awards

2021 Leopold Conservation Award in the United States

Deadline: 7-Mar-21

The Global Development Network (GDN) and the French Development Agency (AFD) have launched a global competitive research program to promote opportunities to produce high quality, relevant, legitimate and credible knowledge and analysis that can foster biodiversity mainstreaming by opening new spaces for collaborations or negotiations within the society.

This program aims to address, through a social science angle, the issue of mainstreaming biodiversity into public policies, corporate practices and society at large.

The three-year awards program creates a high-quality and high-visibility opportunity for researchers based in select developing countries to produce and disseminate quality research, especially multidisciplinary research, that is independent, of high quality, and policy relevant on the link between biodiversity and development.

It consists of four competitively selected individual research grants of up to 24 months, one of which is earmarked for Francophone Africa, plus two additional grants for winners that successfully develop a multi-disciplinary project together.
