The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in Vietnam through WWF-Norway and Thua Thien Hue Innovation Startup Center is pleased to launch the contest “Initiative to reduce plastic waste – Hue 2023 with the desire to find creative ideas to reduce the problem of plastic waste in Vietnam. Hue city, contributing efforts to make Hue free of plastic waste in nature.
The contest “Initiative to reduce plastic waste – Hue 2023” is designed to create opportunities for individuals, organizations and start-up businesses nationwide to showcase their talents, creativity, and civic responsibility. Green in the era of digital technology is transforming extremely strongly, contributing to the effort to reduce plastic waste in Hue city.
Participating in the competition, participating individuals/groups will also be trained and improved through a program of guidance and support from leading experts in the field of incubation and project management. Ten (10) teams selected for the semi-finals will be trained in 02 topics: 1. Project management and operation model; 2. Project financial management. After the teams present and give feedback to the judges at the final round, the winning teams will continue to be consulted and supported by experts 1:1 to complete the operation and model management plan. . The winning team will be selected based on criteria related to financial management ability.

- The competition takes place in 4 rounds: Registration, Preliminary Round, Semi-Final Round, and Final Round

- Time To Receive Contest Registration: From February 23 To March 31, 2023
- Registration form: Contestants register to participate in the contest by filling in all information.
- Preliminary Round: 01/04/2023 – 10/04/2023
- Content: Preliminary assessment of the initiative
- Format: based on the received project description, the Jury Council will evaluate and agree to select projects participating in the Semi-finals
- Time Deployment: April 1 – April 10, 2023.
- SEMI-FINAL: 11/04/2023 – 08/05/2023
- Content: evaluation of the implementation plan
- Format: The projects will present the initiative implementation plan within the specified time period and give feedback to the Jury.
- Implementation time: April 11 – May 8, 2023
- FINAL ROUND: 09/05/2023 – 28/05/2023
- Content: assessment of financial management ability
- Format: Projects detail the content of the work plan and budget to implement the initiative within the specified time period and critique with the Board of Directors survey.

Eligibility Criteria
- Persons aged 16 and over who are individuals or groups of individuals and organizations across Vietnam can apply to participate in the contest.
