The Climate Resilience Academy for South Asia is inviting applications for its second cohort under the guiding theme of “Loss and Damage”.
The academy brings together a transdisciplinary cohort of academics, practitioners, thought leaders, and policymakers to strengthen existing expert networks, expand collaboration, and co-produce solutions to South Asia’s climate emergency.
The Climate Resilience Academy for Least Developed Countries (CRAL) is an initiative by the International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) and the Global Resilience Partnership (GRP).
Thematic Pillars 2022
To further explore points of interest for the academy, applications are invited to address four different pillars of this year’s academy:
- Non-Economic Loss and Damage
- Economic Loss and Damage
- Financing Loss and Damage
- Adaptation Measures for Loss and Damage
Expected Outputs
One outcome of this year’s CRAL 2 Cohort is the dissemination of a range of diverse knowledge products on loss and damage, including but not limited to, working papers, blogs, and articles across various platforms – conferences, websites, social media, print media, etc.
What CRAL 2 offers
- Enhanced knowledge and understanding of the thematic areas of the academy
- Unique dialogue opportunities with government officials and delegates to the UNFCCC climate negotiations at COP27
- Support in the dissemination of knowledge products through the extensive networks of ICCCAD, GRP, and the South-to-South Resilience Academy
- All-expense paid in-person workshop in Bangladesh
Eligibility Criteria
The Global Resilience Partnership is looking for researchers and practitioners with documented experience working on Loss and Damage with a focus on South Asia. Successful candidates are qualified persons with profiles such as doctoral researchers in the final stages of their research, post-doctoral fellows, lecturers, assistant professors, practitioners working in public bodies, implementing agencies, civil society advocates, and any other organization related to Loss and Damage.
