Deadline: 14-Aug-2025
Venture Center and Envalior India Pvt. Ltd have launched the Envalior Sustainability Innovation Program to support entrepreneurs and startups working on innovative technologies with potential social impact. The initiative focuses on helping these ventures validate their technologies or products through prototype development, pilot studies, and field trials.
The goal of the program is to support the creation of minimum viable products that address real societal needs and accelerate market entry. It also aims to build a strong peer network with domain expertise. The program will run for a duration of six months.
Two types of grants are available. The Technology Advancement Grant (TAG) provides funding to refine early prototypes, explore market potential, and secure necessary certifications with the goal of attracting investors or licensors. Pilot grants help entrepreneurs demonstrate both the technical and commercial feasibility of their innovations. Alongside funding, the program facilitates connections with mentors, investors, and service partners to support growth.
The focus areas include clean energy, climate action, sustainable mobility, carbon capture and storage, and circular economy. Each grantee can receive up to INR 5 lakhs or 10 lakhs, with the maximum project duration being six months.
Grant funds can be used for outsourcing charges related to R&D, raw materials, fabrication of models, manpower (up to 20% of the project cost), patent filing (up to 10%), and contingencies (also up to 10%). However, the grant cannot cover prior financial commitments, personal rent, infrastructure setup, or costs incurred before the project begins.
To be eligible, each proposal must identify a Project Leader (PL) and an Applicant or Grantee. The applicant can be a registered Indian company or an early-stage innovator. The company must be majority Indian-owned. If applying as an individual, the applicant must serve as the Project Leader.
The Project Leader must be an Indian citizen, at least 18 years old, and committed full-time to the project with no other major obligations. They must have completed undergraduate training in science, engineering, medicine, or related fields. Qualifications accepted include PhD, MTech, BTech, BPharm, MD, MBBS, BDS, MSc, MPhil, M Des, MPH, MBA, MSW, or their equivalents. Applicants with a BSc and at least one year of relevant experience are also eligible.
