Categories
Startups applying for the Green Alley Award have to fit into one of the following categories:
- Recycling
- Waste prevention
- Digital Solutions
Stages
- Pre-Seed: Your business is just a thought or idea.
- Seed & Development: You are just starting to write a business plan and setting up the organizational structure of your business. You are analyzing your market and try to proof your concept. Your main focus now is research and development.
- Startup: After testing your business idea you have made your venture legal. You are further developing your product / service / technology and have a working prototype. First customers are acquired. Your main focus now is cash investment to roll out your business.
- Growth & Establishment: Your business has a consistent source of income and a growing customer base. Your main focus now is time management, customer relations and competition.
- Expansion: Your staff is growing, you are expanding your offerings, trying new distribution channels and entering new geographic markets. Revenues are growing rapidly. Your main focus now is to measure risks of expansion and secure the company.
Prerequisites
- Only startups no older than 5 years that are located in Europe can apply for the Green Alley Award. They also accept startups that have not yet incorporated their business.
- Out of all applicants, a total of six startups will be invited to their Grand Finale in Berlin. Five of the six finalists are chosen by their committee, the sixth is nominated by a public voting from a preselected number of startups.
