Applications are now open for the Texan by Nature Conservation Wrangler Program, an accelerator program that catalyzes the very best Texan-led conservation projects occurring in the state.
Each year, organizations with on-going conservation projects submit applications to be scored against a wide range of criteria with an emphasis on proven impact. They look for projects that are beneficial to quality of life, economic growth, and natural resources in equal measures. Projects can focus on any natural resource such as wildlife, land, and water, can encompass any Texas geography from urban to rural.
During each program cycle, Texan by Nature selects up to six Conservation Wrangler projects to support with program management, strategic planning, marketing messaging, metrics capture and analysis, professional content production, and partnership development – whatever is needed to accelerate the project.

- Collaborative partnership to achieve greatest project impact
- Kick-off meeting (in-person TBD)
- Agreed upon checkpoints throughout the program
- Participation and presentation at Conservation Summit & Celebration
- Continued devotion to the amazing work and project outlined in the application process
Eligibility Criteria
If your answer to the below mentioned questions are yes/no, then you can apply for this:
- Is your project located in Texas?
- Has your project been started?
- Does your project benefit people, prosperity, and natural resources either directly or indirectly?
- Is your project science-based?
- Is your project a model that could be replicated?
- Would tailored aid in project management, strategic planning, marketing, partner development, and/or other areas specific to your project help realize and expand the positive impact of your initiative?
- Is your project complete?
- Do you have time to commit to a collaborative partnership that entails regular meetings, calls, and project collaboration over the next 18-months?
