Deadline: 2-Oct-23
The American Council on Germany is seeking applications for the Anna-Maria and Stephen M. Kellen Fellowships which allows exceptional German journalists who live and work in Berlin to travel to the United States to interview policymakers, opinion leaders, and experts while doing in-depth reporting.
Named in honor of Anna-Maria and Stephen M. Kellen, a Berlin native who was an ACG Board member and Co-Chairman of the New York investment firm Arnhold and S. Bleichroeder Holdings, the fellowships allow up-and-coming journalists to examine critical issues in the German-American partnership.
Fellowships are meant to give individuals new life experiences and to help move their careers forward. While there is no age limit, the Kellen Fellowship is intended for those in the early stages of their careers.
Benefits
- Fellows receive a $7,000 stipend, which covers transatlantic airfare and domestic travel, as well as room and board, for a minimum of 21 days. Fellows work closely with the Program Director to organize a detailed itinerary before the stipend is released. Travel must take place within one calendar year of selection.
- The ACG’s fellowship programs allow professionals and academics in the relatively early stages of their careers to complete in-depth research while meeting with their transatlantic counterparts. The programs are designed to broaden fellows’ professional experiences and worldviews and to enable them to establish working relationships overseas. Most fellows use this opportunity as a stepping stone to advance their careers.

- Be a German citizen residing in Berlin;
- Be in the relatively early stages of their careers;
