The Atlas Corps: Madagascar Emerging Leaders Initiative is partially-supported by the U.S. Embassy in Madagascar and is looking to recruit emerging Malagasy social change leaders for professional development programs in the United States and online.
The Atlas Corps Fellowship is designed for mission-driven individuals seeking social change. Competitive applicants will have 2-10 years of experience, and most tend to be in the nonprofit/NGO sector. However, the Atlas Corps Fellowship also includes individual in business, technology, media, government, and other sectors.
Programs
- The Atlas Corps Fellowship engages professionals committed to social change in 12-18 months of service with organizations online and in the U.S. to learn best practices, build organizational capacity, and return home to create a network of global leaders.
- The Virtual Leadership Institute offers a 7-month online learning program that brings the professional and networking strengths of our model to emerging social impact leaders across the world.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants can apply to become a Fellow if they meet the following minimum requirements:
- 2 to 10 years of relevant experience in the social sector, which can include NGOs/nonprofits, businesses, government, social enterprises, or media organizations
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- English proficiency (oral, writing, reading)
- Age 35 or younger when the Fellowship begins
- Applying to volunteer in a country other than where you are from (Americans cannot apply to U.S. Fellowship)
- Commitment to return to applicants home country after the 12 to 18-month fellowship
- Commitment to living on a basic stipend that covers food, shared housing, and local transportation
