Applications are open for British Council’s International Skills Partnerships which are an innovative way of addressing skills and employability challenges. They bring together organizations from the UK and overseas with similar priorities to share their knowledge and expertise and devise new approaches to skills development.
British Council international skills partnerships bring together UK organizations with leading counterpart organizations around the world in order to deliver innovative skills development projects. Partnership projects are pre-commercial and have at their heart the exchange of knowledge and expertise. International skills partnerships cover a wide range of sectors and a number of themes, including employer engagement, quality assurance, entrepreneurship development, and progression routes. Partnerships are supported financially by British Council, typically for one year with a view to becoming self-sustaining thereafter.
The Partnerships:
- develop and pilot new, improved approaches to vocational training for people in the UK and overseas
- motivate and develop applicant’s staff
- enrich applicant’s organizational culture
- raise applicant’s organization’s profile in the UK and overseas
- build an international network
- create new international business opportunities.
Eligibility Criteria
- British Council international skills partnerships invite UK organizations to apply to partner with relevant counterparts in South Africa, Nigeria and Pakistan.
- International Skills Partnership programme is now open for applications from:
- Further education institutions
- Training providers
- Sector skills organizations
- Employers
- Awarding organizations
- Skills agencies
- Quality assurance agencies
- Government ministries
- Universities
