Kurt Weill Dissertation Fellowship: US

Doctoral candidates are invited to apply for Kurt Weill Dissertation Fellowship to assist in research activities on Weill, Lenya and/or Blitzstein-related topics.

Fellowships are reserved for candidates with extraordinary potential for contribution to the field evidenced by recommendations from the academic community. The applicant’s project should address significant lacunae in Weill, Lenya, and/or Blitzstein research.

Evaluation Procedures

After applications have been reviewed by Foundation staff, additional support materials or information may be requested for consideration by the independent review panel, which will make recommendations to the Board of Trustees. The Independent Review Panel comprises experts from the musical, theatrical, and scholarly communities; panelists’ identities are confidential to assure maximum impartiality. Grants will be awarded on an objective and non-discriminatory basis.
