Applications for Teach for Hong Kong (TFHK) fellowship program are now open to nurture Fellows to strive for education equity as a full-time teacher.
Teach for Hong Kong’s program aims to bring systemic changes in the long run while directly impacting grassroots students through empowering the Fellows and partner schools in the short run.
TFHK envisions a future where all children in Hong Kong have equal opportunity to learn, grow and actualise their potential.
The Fellowship Program begins with the Summer Institute in early July. Summer Institute is a six-week training program, in partnership with Quality School Improvement Project (QSIP) from CUHK, where you will equip skills and knowledge on pedagogy techniques, education innovation, career, and leadership development. It is mandatory for Fellows to attend the Summer Institute in full.
Benefit
- You receive a monthly living stipend of HKD 16,000 during the ten-month teaching placement.
Eligibility Criteria
- According to the Education Ordinance in Hong Kong, a person who holds only academic qualifications (i.e. has no teacher training and teacher qualification) may apply to be a Permitted Teacher (PT). The minimum academic qualification required of a PT teaching in a school providing primary, secondary or post-secondary education is an associate degree, a higher diploma or equivalent.
- Candidates may only apply to TFHK Fellowship Program once during an admission year but you are welcomed to reapply in subsequent years.
- As long as you are aged 30 or under, and hold a Bachelor Degree. You must also be proficient in Cantonese and have a long term commitment to working in Hong Kong.
