The World Food Programme has announced a call for proposals in South Kordofan, Sudan, aimed at advancing nutrition initiatives that address malnutrition and promote healthier communities.
This opportunity seeks qualified and experienced Cooperating Partners (CPs) to collaborate with WFP over a twelve-month period in implementing, monitoring, and delivering nutrition activities under two of WFP’s key Strategic Outcomes. The initiative emphasizes partnership and the pooling of comparative advantages and complementary expertise to achieve stronger, more sustainable results in improving nutrition and food security.
This call for proposals aligns with the objectives of the Sudan Country Strategic Plan (CSP), focusing particularly on Strategic Outcome 1 and Strategic Outcome 2. These outcomes highlight the urgent need to ensure that all vulnerable individuals have access to adequate, safe, and nutritious food. In South Kordofan, where communities continue to face the dual challenges of food insecurity and malnutrition, the project represents a critical step toward addressing immediate nutritional needs while laying the groundwork for long-term resilience and well-being.
Through this partnership, WFP and its Cooperating Partners will deliver comprehensive nutrition interventions that include both the prevention and treatment of malnutrition. Over the course of the engagement, partners will integrate complementary measures into food and nutrition assistance platforms, helping to strengthen the overall nutritional status of affected populations. This integrated approach ensures that efforts are not limited to emergency response but extend to building sustainable systems for better nutrition outcomes.
The initiative in South Kordofan demonstrates WFP’s ongoing commitment to tackling malnutrition and supporting the most vulnerable. By fostering collaboration and shared responsibility, the programme aims to create lasting improvements in health, stability, and food security across the region.
