Deadline: 23-Nov-2025
The World Food Programme (WFP) has announced a call for proposals in North Darfur, Sudan, focusing on critical nutrition initiatives aimed at preventing and treating malnutrition among vulnerable populations.
This opportunity seeks to engage capable and experienced Cooperating Partners (CPs) for a twelve-month period to implement, monitor, and deliver nutrition activities aligned with WFP’s strategic goals. The initiative reflects WFP’s continued commitment to fostering partnerships that leverage complementary expertise and comparative advantages to achieve greater impact in addressing nutritional challenges.
The project is anchored in WFP’s Sudan Country Strategic Plan (CSP), specifically under Strategic Outcome 1 and Strategic Outcome 2. These outcomes emphasize ensuring that nutritionally vulnerable individuals have access to adequate, safe, and nutritious food. The initiative acknowledges that food security and nutrition are essential foundations for progress in all aspects of human development. By strengthening access to nutritious food, WFP and its partners aim to create conditions where communities can thrive and sustain improvements in health and well-being.
Over the course of the partnership, WFP and its Cooperating Partners will work together to enhance food and nutrition assistance platforms. The integration of complementary measures will aim to reinforce the nutritional status of the population, ensuring that interventions address both immediate and long-term needs. This includes efforts to prevent malnutrition while also providing effective treatment for those already affected.
Through this call for proposals, WFP is reinforcing its mission to combat hunger and malnutrition in North Darfur, where nutritional vulnerability remains a pressing concern. The initiative not only seeks to alleviate immediate suffering but also to build resilience within communities. By empowering local and international partners to collaborate in delivering targeted nutrition support, WFP continues to pave the way toward a healthier and more food-secure Sudan.
