EU Social DigiThon Competition in Indonesia

DRL FY21 IRF: Advocacy to Preserve Religious and Cultural Heritage in the Trans-Sahel Region

Deadline: 21-Feb-21

The Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Indonesia, in collaboration with the Indonesian IoT Association (ASIOTI), launched EU Social DigiThon competition themed “Aksi Muda untuk Perubahan” (“Youth Actions for Change”). This competition aims to bring creative and innovative minds from across Indonesia to develop ideas for digital-based solutions to address COVID-19-related challenges.

The EU Delegation to Indonesia seeks to explore the link between digital information and technology and the particular resolution to social and human rights issues arising from the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Thus, this Social DigiThon is a strategic platform to ignite youth’s involvement to creative and innovative approaches in tackling issues of social and human rights faced by women, children, the elderly, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups, through digital based technology.

Ten finalists will be selected to pitch their solutions to a jury panel comprising representatives from the EU Delegation, ASIOTI and the National Commission on Violence Against Women (Komnas Perempuan). Three winners will receive guidance and support to implement their projects and have their ideas realised.
