The World Food Programme has launched a new call for proposals across Sudan to strengthen nutrition interventions aimed at combating malnutrition and improving overall food security.
This initiative seeks to engage capable and experienced Cooperating Partners (CPs) for a twelve-month period to implement, monitor, and deliver nutrition activities under two of WFP’s key Strategic Outcomes. By focusing on partnerships that bring together diverse expertise and complementary strengths, WFP aims to maximize the impact of its efforts to support nutritionally vulnerable populations throughout the country.
The programme is part of WFP’s Sudan Country Strategic Plan (CSP), emphasizing Strategic Outcome 1 and Strategic Outcome 2, which address the fundamental human need for adequate, safe, and nutritious food. The approach recognizes that nutrition is not only vital for individual health but also a foundation for broader development and community resilience. Through this call, WFP seeks to ensure that all vulnerable individuals — especially those affected by food insecurity and malnutrition — have reliable access to the nourishment they need to lead healthy and productive lives.
WFP and its Cooperating Partners will work collaboratively to deliver targeted interventions that integrate prevention and treatment of malnutrition with broader nutrition support. Over the course of the partnership, complementary measures will be introduced to strengthen existing food and nutrition assistance platforms, ensuring a holistic and sustainable approach to improving nutritional outcomes.
This call for proposals represents a crucial opportunity for organizations to contribute to Sudan’s fight against hunger and malnutrition. By combining resources, expertise, and commitment, WFP and its partners aim to create lasting improvements in the nutritional status of communities across the country, paving the way toward a healthier and more food-secure Sudan.
