UNDP is seeking four competent and reputable civil society organization(s) or national non-governmental organization(s) or community-based organization(s) and two media organizations to regularly monitor human rights developments at the GBV and Juvenile Court and advocate for gender-responsive, rights-based, and transparent trial processes for GBV survivors in Juba.

UNDP in partnership with the Judiciary of South Sudan, with funding from the Kingdom of Netherlands, supported the establishment of a Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Juvenile Court.

The aim has been to populate the Court with personnel sensitive to and experienced in dealing with SGBV-related issues. This includes ensuring protection of women’s human rights and accountability of perpetrators, as well as prevention efforts of re-victimization and stigmatization.

Successful applicants will be trained on human rights standards and monitoring, advocacy skills to deliver rights focused and victim centered activities, and administration of justice for gender crimes, and will be required to produce and disseminate forward looking periodic and annual reports for addressing the challenges identified through their monitoring activities.

Objectives

Applicants are requested to submit their proposals as potential grant implementers in Juba.  The main objective of the grant is to identify four civil society organizations (CSOs) or national non-governmental organizations (NNGOs) or community-based organizations (CBOs) and two Media organizations with operational presence and capacities in Juba to do the following:
