Deadline: 29-Oct-2025

The Corra Racial Equity Fund is a new initiative providing unrestricted funding to organisations in Scotland that are led by, and working with, people from Black and racially minoritised backgrounds.

This fund is designed to address the long-standing underfunding of such groups, which has historically limited their voice and power, and forms part of Corra’s wider commitment to advancing racial equity.

The fund is open to charities and registered not-for-profit organisations with an annual income of £250,000 or less. Eligible applicants can apply for up to £50,000 across a five-year period, with no more than £10,000 awarded in any single year. Corra anticipates making grants totalling £450,000, with around ten organisations expected to receive support through this programme.

To qualify as being led by Black and racially minoritised communities, organisations must demonstrate that at least 75% of their Board of Trustees or Management Committee and at least 50% of senior staff (where staff exist) are from Black and racially minoritised backgrounds. In addition, applicants must show they have been serving their community for at least 12 months, actively listen to and involve their community, and ensure that the voices and views of service users shape their work.

Eligible organisations include charities registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR), as well as Community Interest Companies (CICs), social enterprises, or other registered not-for-profit entities such as private companies limited by guarantee without share capital. These organisations must have clear provisions in their governing documents that confirm they operate on a not-for-profit basis, include an asset lock or dissolution clause, and ensure no single director holds more than 50% of control or voting rights.

Through this fund, Corra aims to provide long-term, flexible resources that allow grassroots organisations to strengthen their work, build resilience, and continue supporting their communities. By investing in groups with deep-rooted connections and lived experience, the Corra Racial Equity Fund seeks to drive meaningful change towards fairness and equality in Scotland.
