The Council of Europe is launching the 11th edition of the Crystal Scales of Justice Prize for innovative practices contributing to the efficiency and quality of justice.
The aim of this Prize is to identify and highlight innovative practices in the organization of courts and procedures and the functioning of the judicial system in general. These are recently implemented practices that are easily applicable to other countries or institutions and whose effectiveness is measurable.
Eligibility Criteria
- The competition is open to courts, Bars Associations, judicial professionals, non-governmental organisations or any other entity responsible for justice affairs in one of the Member States of the Council of Europe or of an Observer State to the CEPEJ.
- The initiatives must have been introduced in order to improve efficiency and quality of the functioning of justice, judicial procedures or the organisation of courts, particularly for the users of justice. They must therefore be innovative practices and their results must be measurable.
- An initiative presented in the previous editions of the Prize, cannot be presented for another edition of the competition. A court, , Bar Association or association of legal professionals or any other entity responsible for justice affairs can present several initiatives for the same edition of the competition.
