Grants to Build Capacity in Green Energy Solutions for Women Graduating from STEM - Sierra Leone

Deadline: 19-May-23

The Plan International African Union Liaison Office is announcing a call for proposals to award a small fund grant to girls and young women with a compelling, practical and impactful advocacy initiative idea that they want to put into action.

The award’s overarching goal is to encourage and inspire African girls and young women to continue their activism in advancing the rights of children and young women, particularly girls. In addition, they have learned from the ongoing engagement with girls and young women that, access to adequate human, technical and financial resources is critical to the success of girls’ and young women’s advocacy efforts.

Plan International with the goal of advancing Children’s rights and equality for girls, works to ensure they are equipped with the tools, platforms, knowledge and resources they need to identify barriers and conquer obstacles., Girls’ and young women’s efforts must be recognized and actively promoted, while also protecting them from threats and violence and taking concrete steps to remove structural barriers and systemic disadvantages that they face. In line with this, it is also important to critically look into the shrinking civil society spaces as one of the reasons to create a platform for girls’ activism.
