CFPs: Collaborations with the US in AI, Digital Infrastructure and Cyber Security (Sweden)

Innovate to Grow Program: Cyber Security in Australia

Deadline: 25-Nov-2025

Swedish research organizations, companies, and public bodies can apply for Vinnova funding of up to 150,000 SEK to collaborate with US partners in AI, digital infrastructure, and cybersecurity, including a stay in Silicon Valley during Nvidia’s GTC conference in spring 2026, aiming to strengthen Sweden’s international innovation and develop new technologies.

With this the offer Vinnova want to strengthen Sweden’s position in technical areas internationally, increase the development of technologies and services based on industrially applied AI, digital infrastructure and cybersecurity, promote partnerships, collaboration and knowledge exchange with actors in the USA, and give applicants the opportunity to develop and scale up research and innovation collaborations between Sweden and the USA.

The call for proposals is part of the Advanced Digitalisation program, an industry-driven initiative designed to enhance Sweden’s ability to create future digital solutions. The initiative is structured in two stages. In stage 1, Swedish research organizations, companies, and public organizations can apply for funding of up to 150,000 SEK to cover travel expenses and personnel costs for a project lasting a maximum of three months. This stage focuses on preparation, establishing contacts, and staying in the USA for one to three weeks, potentially in connection with Nvidia’s GTC conference in March 2026, with access to Nordic Innovation House and related activities.

The project is expected to include preparations such as analyzing the US market, formulating collaboration goals, developing pitches, and planning a kick-off meeting. Post-processing will involve further development of the project idea with American partners. Eligible costs include personnel, materials, travel, and overhead, with specific funding percentages based on organization size and activity. Funding is subject to state aid rules, de minimis support, or non-economic activity provisions for organizations such as universities and research institutes.

Applicants must be Swedish legal entities with corporate registration and must demonstrate the capacity to establish international collaborations. Projects must start no earlier than January 14, 2026, and conclude no later than April 15, 2026. Proposals must be written in Swedish or English, include all requested attachments, and follow the provided templates for project description and CVs.

Assessment will focus on potential, actors, and feasibility, including expected impact, the competence of participants, realistic project planning, and integration of gender equality and climate change perspectives. Funding decisions will also consider the financial status and capacity of the participating organizations. Once approved, organizations must follow Vinnova’s general terms and report progress regularly.
