The Department of Communities Tasmania (Communities Tasmania) is offering 2021-2022 Community Support Levy Grants to recognise that gambling can impact on individuals, families and communities and is committed to preventing and reducing gambling harms.
The Gambling Support Program (GSP) within the Department of Communities Tasmania (Communities Tasmania) is responsible for managing the distribution of that component.
Themes
- prevent gambling harm
- reduce gambling harm
- address social, environmental, and/or health issues associated with gambling.
Focus Areas
- Projects must be undertaken in Tasmania and must benefit vulnerable groups and communities, including those impacted by geographic, economic, health, social or cultural disadvantages.
- For example:
- communities in low socio-economic areas
- communities in rural or remote areas
- vulnerable young or older people
- culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities
- people with disabilities or significant health issues (including mental health issues)
- communities with lower health and/or financial literacy
- communities addressing issues of family violence, social isolation, alcohol, drugs, and/or gambling.
Funding Information
- innovation project grants of up to $110 000 (ex GST) for innovative projects for community organisations to deliver significant harm prevention and early intervention projects
- community project grants of up to $25 000 (ex GST) for community projects to support community organisations to provide services to their communities
- small equipment grants of up to $5 000 (ex GST) for equipment to support community organisations.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible to apply for grants, your organisation must be a charity or not-for-profit community organisation whose dominant purpose is charitable, altruistic, and for the benefit of the Tasmanian community.
- Grants will only be paid to incorporated charitable organisations and evidence of incorporation is required.
- If your charitable organisation is not incorporated, you may consider a sponsoring arrangement with an incorporated charitable organisation.
