Deadline: 23-Nov-21
The AgriFutures Australia Emerging Industries Program is offering grants to small and medium sized enterprises to help resolve key industry issues that are inhibiting growth within Australia’s new and emerging agricultural industries.
The AgriFutures Emerging Industries Program helps grow up-and-coming rural industries for which there is a clear interest in their products, but whose pathway for growth is unchartered. They do this through research that explores opportunities for growth and through skill development for industry leaders. The goal is to sustainably grow developing rural industries and help them reach new markets.
The objective of the grant is to fund projects through the AgriFutures Emerging Industries Program that help resolve key industry issues that are inhibiting growth within Australia’s new and emerging agricultural industries.
It is expected that by alleviating a key industry issue, supply and/or demand for the emerging industry’s product/s will increase, and subsequently help the growth of the industry’s annual gross value of production (GVP).
Categories
The emerging industries, supported by AgriFutures, fall into one of three categories:
- Emergent: these little-known industries are characterised by a small number of producers or industries in their trial phase. The potential or feasibility of the industry needs to be explored and mapped.
- Scaling: these rural industries have successfully established themselves in markets, have addressed some industry issues and opportunities but face ‘step change’ and economies of scale.
- Growth: these rural industries have overcome initial industry growth challenges and now need support to manage rapid growth and demand for their product.
