The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) are seeking applications for funding for the OJJDP fiscal year (FY) 2021 Delinquency Prevention Grants Program. This program furthers the Department’s mission to reduce crime and promote public safety by providing funding to states, localities, and tribes to implement programs to address juvenile delinquency and improve the juvenile justice system.

The OJJDP Delinquency Prevention Grants Program focuses on helping youth avoid involvement in delinquency through reducing risk factors and enhancing protective factors in their schools, communities, and families. States awarded under this program are required to provide subgrants to units of local government.

The goal of this program is to support state, local, and tribal prevention efforts to reduce risk factors and enhance protective factors to prevent youth at risk of becoming delinquent from entering the juvenile justice system.

Priority Areas

In FY 2021, and in addition to executing any program-specific prioritization that may be applicable, OJP will give priority consideration to applications as follows:
