2021 Research on Impact of Public Policy on Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Justice System (US)

Call for Proposals: SO-JUST Project (Jamaica)

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), National Institute of Justice (NIJ) is seeking applications for funding of investigator-initiated proposals for evidence-based, nonpartisan analyses of existing evidence to examine how observed racial and ethnic disparities in the justice system might be reduced through public policy.

Goal: The primary goal of this solicitation is to promote the fair administration of justice. Findings from this research program will assist state, local, and tribal jurisdictions to promote fairer justice systems, and increase the legitimacy of those systems, thus enhancing racial and ethnic communities’ trust in public safety.
Objective: The objective of this solicitation is to identify policy interventions that have potential to reduce racial and ethnic disparities in the justice system and to guide future research and testing of promising interventions.
